My love affair with wine started nearly twenty years ago, when my parents started seriously talking about moving to California and working in the wine biz. I knew it had to be something exciting that would make them abandon their youngest and move 2,000 miles away. Or did it….
By the time I was about twenty-two I was intrigued. So I did a little reading on the subject, sniffed around and like most twenty-somethings, tried some white zin and cheap pinot grigio. Needless to say, I couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about. Then, after my first sip of really good CA Cab a short while later, I was hooked. Then came Italian, French and Spanish wines and I was smitten.
Since then, I’ve worked as a server and wine steward in higher end restaurants and I’ve spent the last ten years in retail as a wine consultant and sales manager. I have a lot of stories about my adventures in this industry. Some of the better ones I will share on this blog. But mostly I just like to talk about wine.
